One of Zambia’s watchdogs in governance, Chapter One foundation, says there is need for consensus in conducting electoral and Constitutional reforms.
Executive director Josiah Kalala says this is because the risks and threats that surround the constitution still exist during and after the elections.
He was reacting the Zambia Conference for Catholic Bishops Pastoral letter on the state of the nation.
In the statement, the bishops have advised Government against reforming electoral laws because of the proximity of the 2026 general election.
The bishops say the short period of 19 months may not garner consensus.
